Aupa Baskonia!

Aupa Baskonia!

El Baskonia se ha metido otra vez en la final-four, a ver si este ano se lleva la Euroliga. Haciendo patria, este es el mensaje que escribi a mis colegas americanos de la escuela  ;-)

Spain rules in Europe!!!

Yeah, and be ready for the World Cup too!

As some of you know apart of the leagues in each country the best teams from each league (England, France, Italy, Spain…) play the european champion league, not only in football but in different sports. This is the situation right now:

Handball: European champion league final - Ciudad Real (Spain) vs. Portland San Antonio (From Pamplona, where the running of the bulls, Spain, oe oe oe oe!!!)

Basketball: The final four will be the 28th of April in Prague. Two Spanish teams will travel to the Czech Republic: Barcelona playing against CSKA Moscow… AND THE TEAM FROM MY CITY VITORIA-GASTEIZ, TAU BASKONIA!!! By the way, we lost last year the final against a team from Israel (Maccabi Tel-Aviv), and this year we are playing them in semi-finals. We want revenge!!! Last year we beat CSKA Moscow in semis. Hopefully we will see them in the final again  ;-)

Football: They are in semifinals too and these are the games:
Barcelona (Spain) vs. Milan (Italy)
Villarreal (Spain) vs. Arsenal (England)
Sorry Cai, not Liverpool there this year, the defending champion.

Will we have three European Spanish finals? Not to mention tennis (Rafa Nadal), golf (Sergio Garcia, Olazabal), F-1 (Fernando Alonso), Moto GP (Daniel Pedrosa)…

Thank you very much Tracey for reminding me this! I forgot. Well, you know that I am from the Basque Country. And you know that one part is in Spain, and another part is in France. Well, they are in semifinal too –Heineken Cup-, and of course a basque team is there. By the way, we beat an English team (the Sharks) and we are going to beat Bath in the next round. Allez Biarritz!

Last game against the Sharks was played it in San Sebastian, in the Spanish part of the best country, I mean Basque country. And the next one will be too.
