De España a China en bicicleta

El 30 de Octubre, dos interesantes españoles visitaron la escuela secundaria del campus de Puxi. Lo que les hace especiales es que están verdaderamente concienciados por el problema de la contaminación producida por vehículos de motor, y para hacer reflexionar sobre este particular decidieron venir en bicicleta desde Vitoria-Gasteiz, en el norte de España, a Beijing. Salieron un 5 de abril, y después de pasar por Francia, Luxemburgo, Alemania, República Checa, Eslovaquia, Polonia, Bielorrusia, Rusia –en tren- y Mongolia llegaron a su destino el pasado 7 de octubre, con 7.395 kilómetros en sus piernas.

Aquí en la Escuela Americana de Shanghai experimentaron uno de nuestros ocupados días. En una clase de IB explicaron en español su aventura, contestando a las preguntas de los estudiantes. Hicieron lo mismo durante el almuerzo, en una presentación esta vez en inglés para cualquier alumno interesado. Cathy Lai y Annalise Larson, de AP Español, les enseñaron las instalaciones antes de que cogieran el autobús para ir a una escuela local china, con el club ¨Servicio a la Comunidad¨. Vuelta al colegio, cena, y tuvieron la suerte de asistir a la representación de la obra de teatro Something´s Afoot.

From Spain to China by bicycle

On October 30, two interesting guys from Spain visited the High School on Puxi campus. What makes them special is that they are really concerned about the contamination produced by motor vehicles, and to raise awareness about this problem they decided to come by bicycle from Vitoria-Gasteiz, in the north of Spain, to Beijing. They departed on April 5, and after passing by France, Luxemburg, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Belarus, Russia –by train- and Mongolia they arrived to their destination last October 7^th, with 7.395 kilometres in their legs.

Here at SAS they experienced one of our busy days. At a Senior IB class they explained in Spanish their adventure and responded to the questions from students. They did the same at a meeting during lunch, but this time in English for any student interested. AP Spanish students Cathy Lai and Annalise Larson tour them around the school, before they took the bus to visit a local school with our Community Service group. Back to SAS, dinner, and they were lucky enough to be able to see the Something´s Afoot which they loved.
