Hey guys!
Here go we! Since my birthday I had in my profile picture an image... asking for money. Yeah, we are trying to raise funds for a library in Anhui province, in China.
It is not just asking for money... we have an excuse! :-) Our team is walking/running on a 24hours relay this Saturday Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to Sunday 9 a.m.
We were a team of 6.
The problem is that two friends quit because they had other business. So we were only 4.
But then a team-mate got a new friend... and we posted an announcement for the 6th one -. And we are 6 now.
And through this post I am making the last push for a donation because WE ARE A PRETTY COOL TEAM. Why?
- Well, I don´t know about the 6th man, but he needs to be a cool guy. Why? Because right now he is flying from Italy to China and on Saturday he will run the Moronathon. We don´t know much about him except that his name is Daniele, and he is flying to China from Europe... today!
The other 5 decided to get together tonight to get our business straight. Relays, food, logistic, drinks, and everything related to the race. After a 3 hours meeting at a restaurant we got kind of drunk, and we decided... NOTHING! We didn´t even talk about anything related with Moronathon, except raising funds.
That´s why you need to support us, because you get identified with us :-) We are The People´s Team :-) Let me introduce you Victorious Secret Team –Daniele was introduced before, as far as we know :-) - :
- George: I met this guy for the first time tonight, but I got in love with him (except because he is married and I am straight). He is participating for charity, for fun, and for training because at the end of the month... he is climbing a 6.000m. ¨hill¨ in Sichuan province (China).
- Hero: He doesn´t talk much, but he is the man you want to have around when you are in trouble. Cool dude.
- Ada: She had to leave the meeting b4 the end because of ... well, maybe a little bit of beer, but that´s fine :) Awesome girl, and we love her!
- Yvonne: The headmaster of our team. Without Yvonne, no Victorious Secret, no fun, no help to the library in Anhui province.
So as I said we got together this afternoon to plan our strategy, we ate in an awesome Middle Eastern restaurant @Wulumuqi Lu (Shanghai, China), we drunk a bit... and we decided nothing. That was the goal of our meeting and we failed. That is why we are the People´s Team.

de San Martín de Don
La primera edición fue un rotundo éxito y EN ESTE VIDEO podéis ver fotografías de los coches que participaron.
Programación
09:00 – Recepción de los participantes
09:05 – Verificaciones administrativas
10:45 – Cierre de las inscripciones
11:00 – Salida del primer participante – Primer tramo
12:30 – Salida del primer participante – Segundo tramo
14:00 – Paellada de hermandad
16:00 – Entrega de premios y recuerdos
17:00 – Final del Rallye Turísticos
¿Por qué es un buen plan?
1.- Habrá un montón de ambiente en el pueblo
2.- Podrás ver coches que hace bastante tiempo se han dejado de ver circulando por nuestras carreteras. Para participar los coches tienen que tener al menos 30 años. ¿Os acordáis de los Seats 124, 131, 600, 850, 1.430, Panda, Renault 5 Turbo, Simca 1.200…? Qué recuerdos, ¿no?
Los pilotos son aficionados al motor que suelen mantener sus vehículos impecables, así que tiene que ser muy bonito ver como los tienen preparados.
3.- El Valle de Tobalina donde está emplazado San Martín de Don es una maravilla. Podéis combinar la asistencia a este evento con una ruta por esta zona de las Merindades, visitando por ejemplo el Castillo de Frías, el desfiladero de Sobrón o desde Herrán dar un paseo por el Parque Natural de Valderejo, todo muy muy cerquita.
Me consta que la Asociación de Amigos de San Martín de Don ha puesto mucho cariño y trabajo en la preparación del evento. Mención especial a Carlos por en su día soñar con que un evento de este tipo se celebrara en el pueblo, y a base de moverse y organizar a la peña ha conseguido que se haga realidad. Chapeau!

Seguimos recolectando dinero para la biblioteca en la escuela elemental Yuan Zhai, en la provincia de Anhui, China :-)

Aquí escribí de qué va el proyecto, y cómo si os apetece podéis colaborar por una buena causa:
En exactamente una semana mi equipo estará participando en el Moronathon.
Me gustaría en esta entrada comentar un poco más la situación de esta escuela. Más abajo podéis ver fotos y un mapa.
La escuela elemental Yuan Zhai se encuentra en la provincia de Anhui, en una región no muy desarrollada del este de China. Cuenta con 657 estudiantes de tres pueblos cercanos. De entre todos estos estudiantes, el 40% son niños cuyos padres han emigrado a trabajar a ciudades más grandes, lejos de sus ciudades natales, o han sido abandonados. 176 estudiantes provienen de familias pobres, con una renta anual por debajo de los 2000 yuanes (hoy como unos 245 euros).
La escuela ocupa un área de 6.467 metros cuadrados, y la biblioteca que se planea construir ocuparía 88 metros cuadrados.
Por ahora la recaudación va bien.
A través de mi cuenta en Kutxabank llevamos recaudados 299 euros.
En la escuela llevamos recaudados 700 yuanes (86 euros).
La próxima semana intensificaremos la campaña en la escuela :-)
Si con esta carrera se cubre todo el presupuesto para construir la biblioteca de la escuela de Yuan Zhai, la organización ya tiene otro proyecto en lista de espera, para ayudar a otra comunidad.

We keep raising funds for the library at Yuan Zhai elementary school in Anhui province, China :-)

Here I wrote what is this project about, and how if you want you can collaborate with a good cause.
In exactly a week my team will be participating in the Moronathon.
I would like in this entry to give a brief introduction to Yuan Zhai Elementary School. It is located in Anhui Province, a relatively underdeveloped region in Eastern China, and it has now 657 students from three nearby villages. Among these students, 40% are left-behind children, or children whose parents work as migrant workers in places far from their hometown, and 176 of the students are from poor families (annual income under ¥2000RMB -about $300-).
The school covers an area 6467 sqm, and the library planned will take 88 sqm.
So far the fundraising goes well.
Through the account in Spain we have raised 299 euros.
At school we have raised 700 yuans (86 euros)
Next week we will intensify our campaign at school :-)
If the race is successful Pass Love will build this library. If we are very successful in our efforts we may be able to build a second library in at another school helping more than one community.
